{"id":29267,"date":"2026-04-30T17:04:35","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T22:04:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/?p=29267"},"modified":"2026-04-30T17:38:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T22:38:28","slug":"ceas-poster-competition-and-3mt-winners-light-up-the-union","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/ceas-poster-competition-and-3mt-winners-light-up-the-union\/","title":{"rendered":"CEAS poster competition and 3MT winners light up the Union"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hats off to the nearly 100 students who put their research and experiential learning discoveries on display at the college&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/research\/student-research-poster-competition\/\">Student Research Poster Competition &amp; Experiential Learning Expo<\/a> on April 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 96 poster entries, 65 were from graduate students, 20 were undergraduates, and 11 competed in the experiential category, including posters on internships, study abroad, student organizations or senior design experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s event was marked by an increase in the number of judges, compared to last year, including 40 judges from industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another six finalists competed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/mechanical-engineering-doctoral-student-conquored-3mt-2026\/\">Three-Minute Thesis <\/a>(3MT), an &#8220;elevator pitch&#8221; contest for doctoral research within the poster event, with five from mechanical engineering and one from materials science &amp; engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you to sponsors of the event \u2013 Generac, the We Energies Foundation and the family of Michael Krauski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-slider uwm-p-slider--dots-outside\"><div class=\"uwm-p-slider--base\"><figure class=\"uwm-c-img--caption-gray\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/537\/2026\/04\/poster.comp_.dean_.jpg\" alt=\"A young woman shows her engineering research poster to a male judge.\" title=\"A young woman shows her engineering research poster to a male judge.\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption>Cat Pasterski, left, shows her poster on the college&#8217;s Prototyping Club to Dean Brett Peters.
