{"id":19782,"date":"2024-06-25T11:04:48","date_gmt":"2024-06-25T16:04:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/?p=19782"},"modified":"2024-07-30T15:56:54","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T20:56:54","slug":"colleges-student-chapter-of-ite-draws-honors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/colleges-student-chapter-of-ite-draws-honors\/","title":{"rendered":"College\u2019s student chapter of ITE draws honors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Members of the College\u2019s Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) student chapter received the 2024 Momentum Award at the ITE Great Lakes District annual meeting in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Momentum Award is given to one of the 27 student chapters in the district that has experienced the most improved involvement in the past year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 15-member UWM organization began its revival last fall. Since then, the group has amped up its activities, volunteering around Milwaukee, attending professional meetings, and co-hosting events with other College organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tom Shi, assistant professor of civil &amp; environmental engineering, is the organization\u2019s faculty advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Great Lakes District is comprised of Illinois,&nbsp;Indiana,&nbsp;Michigan,&nbsp;Minnesota,&nbsp;North Dakota,&nbsp;Ohio,&nbsp;South Dakota&nbsp;and&nbsp;Wisconsin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New students can get involved by checking out the group&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ite.uwm\/\">Instagram<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/linktr.ee\/iteuwm\">Link Tree<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the College\u2019s Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) student chapter received the 2024 Momentum Award at the ITE Great Lakes District annual meeting in June.
