FEF Pablo Flores

Pablo Zertuche Flores, a senior in materials science & engineering, won a $2,000 scholarship from the Foundry Education Foundation in a national competition between students from all FEF-affiliated schools.

Flores received the Donald G. Brunner Scholarship at FEF’s College Industry Conference, held Nov. 19 at the Westin Hotel in Chicago. The two-day event brought together 117 students from various FEF-affiliated schools and 40 companies for a placement and scholarship drive. Companies were recruiting for more than 160 job openings.

The Foundry Education Foundation Program at UWM helps students from diverse engineering and computer science backgrounds—including materials science & engineering, biomedical engineering, civil engineering and computer science—earn scholarships and jobs in the foundry industry. Since 1996, Pradeep Rohatgi, UWM distinguished professor, materials science & engineering, has served as the university’s FEF key professor.
