SUMMARY:Transportation Seminar - Toni Keegan\, PTP
DESCRIPTION:Join the UWM ITE student chapter at this seminar led by project manager Toni Keegan\, PTP\, from HNTB Corporation who will speak on Maintaining Traffic Flow During Major WisDOT Construction. \nThe Transportation Management Plan Team at HNTB are involved in every freeway construction project in Southeastern Wisconsin. Their team collaborates with key stakeholders\, and is a trusted advisor to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT)\, contractors\, and local public works agencies about construction updates and emergency response plans. \nToni Keegan\, PTP\, is a project manager in Work Zone Traffic Operations for HNTB. She has 28 years of experience in traffic operations\, work zone traffic management\, and traffic incident management for WisDOT projects. She has been designing and implementing Transportation Management Plans (TMPs) for large scale projects in Southeastern Wisconsin which has led to improved safety and mobility to the traveling public. Keegan leads a team that works to balance both project and stakeholder needs throughout construction\, without compromising priorities of either one.

SUMMARY:Transportation Seminar - Dr. Zhaohui Liang
DESCRIPTION:Join the UWM ITE student chapter at this seminar led by research associate Dr. Zhaohui (Vito) Liang on Eco-Driving Control (energy-optimal trajectory planning and impacts near signalized corridors). \nEco-Driving Control focuses on designing energy-optimal trajectory planning strategies that minimize fuel consumption and emissions while maintaining safe and efficient travel. By coordinating vehicle speeds and acceleration patterns\, especially near signalized corridors\, there is enhanced environmental sustainability and improved traffic flow efficiency\, contributing to smarter\, greener transportation systems. \nDr. Liang is a postdoctoral research associate in the TOPS (Traffic Operations and Safety) Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his PhD in civil & environmental engineering from the same institution. His research advances connected and automated vehicle technologies\, focusing on eco-driving strategies\, resilient control\, and real-world field testing. He has extensive experience in developing and deploying RSU-OBU communication systems to enable cooperative vehicle infrastructure integration at signalized intersections. Beyond academia\, Liang is an entrepreneur pursuing innovations at the intersection of mobility\, automation\, and automotive services.
