Volunteers Needed for FIRST Tech

The College of Engineering & Applied Science will again host Wisconsin’s FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) state championship Feb. 8-9 and is looking for volunteers from the engineering community—faculty, staff, undergraduate students, graduate students and members of the community.

To get involved, contact Juli Pickering, Director of Career Services, by Jan. 28 at jlpicker@uwm.edu or 414-229-3208. FIRST Tech requires all volunteers to register; click here to learn more and to register.

FTC is a national science and technology challenge in which students in grades 7-12 compete head to head. Teams design, build and program robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. FTC helps students discover the rewards of collaboration and develop a deeper understanding of innovation and engineering.
