Doctoral students are invited to compete for $3,000 in prize money at UWM’s second annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, sponsored by the UWM Graduate School, Office of Research and UWM Research Foundation. Registration deadline is March 1.
In the competition, students from across campus will take the stage to explain their complex research to the general public within three minutes. The goal is for students to improve their academic, presentation and research communication skills. According to last year’s 3MT finalists from the college—Shabnam Lashkari and Shima Mehrvar—participation left them better prepared to present their theses, interview for jobs and write grant proposals.
For students entering the college’s Student Research Poster Competition, this is a timely opportunity.
