SUMMARY:Engineering and Computer Science Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Curious about what it’s really like to study engineering or computer science at UWM? Join us for a College of Engineering & Applied Science information session\, where you’ll connect one-on-one with an expert academic advisor and explore how our programs set students up for success—both in the classroom and beyond. \nOur small-group sessions mean your questions take center stage. Compare majors\, learn about paid internships and co-ops (and how they differ)\, and discover hands-on research opportunities available to undergraduates. Come see how CEAS can help you build your future.

SUMMARY:Transportation Seminar - Dr. Zhaohui Liang
DESCRIPTION:Join the UWM ITE student chapter at this seminar led by research associate Dr. Zhaohui (Vito) Liang on Eco-Driving Control (energy-optimal trajectory planning and impacts near signalized corridors). \nEco-Driving Control focuses on designing energy-optimal trajectory planning strategies that minimize fuel consumption and emissions while maintaining safe and efficient travel. By coordinating vehicle speeds and acceleration patterns\, especially near signalized corridors\, there is enhanced environmental sustainability and improved traffic flow efficiency\, contributing to smarter\, greener transportation systems. \nDr. Liang is a postdoctoral research associate in the TOPS (Traffic Operations and Safety) Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his PhD in civil & environmental engineering from the same institution. His research advances connected and automated vehicle technologies\, focusing on eco-driving strategies\, resilient control\, and real-world field testing. He has extensive experience in developing and deploying RSU-OBU communication systems to enable cooperative vehicle infrastructure integration at signalized intersections. Beyond academia\, Liang is an entrepreneur pursuing innovations at the intersection of mobility\, automation\, and automotive services.

SUMMARY:Engineering and Computer Science Information Session & Unplugged Tour with the Dean
DESCRIPTION:Spend time with one of our expert academic advisors at a College of Engineering & Applied Science information session and learn ways our program helps students find success in and out of the classroom. Small sessions enable you to get your particular questions answered–whether the differences in majors\, paid internships or co-ops (and the differences between them)\, or even research opportunities for undergraduate students. \nThis session includes an “Unplugged tour with the Dean.” You can also pair your session with a UWM campus tour.

SUMMARY:STEM EXPO 2025
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2012\, the STEM Expo is a science fair style event with “STEM” (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Math) booths set up throughout the UWM Student Union. At each booth (or “exploration station”) is a STEM-based activity or demonstration that is designed to interactively engage K-12 kids to incite and fuel their interests for all things STEM. \nWith a wide array of captivating modes of visual and hands-on learning exercises\, both kids and parents alike get to see into the exciting world of STEM as well as socialize and network with the STEM professionals and undergrads that volunteer at the event from all over greater Milwaukee.  This event is hosted by the ASCE SE Branch YMG and is supported by an elite group of sponsors coupled with a fantastic team of volunteers.
