Maker Faire Milwaukee is a FREE admission event at Wisconsin Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, WI

  • Friday, September 13th programs for students and educators only

We invite you to visit all ten University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee booths.

IN THE DARKROOM

  • Immersive Fluid Flow Experience

An interactive display showing the fascinating nature of air and water flow. The UWM Immersive Flow Experience projects a fluid flow model that is interrupted by people or objects, creating spinning vortexes.

  • UWM Center for Gravitation, Cosmology & Astrophysics

Members of the Leonard E Parker Center for Gravitation, Cosmology & Astrophysics present demonstrations of their explorations of the universe.

IN THE EXHIBIT HALL

  • College of Engineering & Applied Science

Discover the amazing ways our students are tackling today’s engineering and computer science challenges! Then add a circuit to your own Make & Take project.

  • EnQuest Power Station

Twenty-six high school students embarked on an EnQuest, or Engineering Quest, to help people in need. See the portable renewable We Share Solar Suitcase power stations they built and customized with transmitters.

  • Engineering Student Demonstration Station

Rotation of interactive activities such as making and tasting liquid nitrogen ice cream, and student-made prosthetic hands. Check the schedule at the table for details.

  • Prototyping Center

The UWM Prototyping Center develops parts and products for entrepreneurs and businesses. See some of their creations and watch as their 3D scanner digitizes objects.

  • Robotics Association

The UWM Robotics Association gives students opportunities to design, build, test, program and compete with robots. Come see what we can do!

  • School of Architecture & Urban Planning

Stop by our booth to learn more about the making culture in the UWM School of Architecture and Urban Planning. We have a child- friendly Make & Take project that you can take home!

  • Studio Arts and Craft Centre

The UWM Studio Arts and Craft Centre will show you how to stamp images into leather key chains with its hydraulic press. Make a key chain, take a key chain!

  • UWM Print Rollers’ Steamroller Extravaganza

(UWM Print Club) Students in the UWM Print Club create images using large woodcuts and a roller, rather than a printmaking press. Maker Faire visitors can make and take their own print.

Maker Faire Milwaukee will be in Downtown Milwaukee at the Wisconsin Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The main entrance is on the corner of N. 4th St. and W. Wisconsin Ave., and the event will take place on the third floor.
