Dressel, Menon, Van Asten help Westlawn residents Get Wheelin’

Faculty and student fix bike tire

Get Wheelin’ in Westlawn is an annual community bike ride and bike repair event that aims to get people out of cars and onto bikes. It is coordinated by Anne Dressel, assistant professor, nursing, with support from Andrew Dressel, director of UWM’s Bicycle and Motorcycle Engineering Research Laboratory.

This year, CEAS undergraduate mechanical engineering students Manav Menon (pictured in foreground with Andrew Dressel) and Phillip Van Asten volunteered to repair bicycles. The program has repaired over 1,000 bikes for free over its 10 years. More.
