EnQuest strives to help STEM-motivated high school girls build hands-on skills, make new friends and explore campus life.  Safety of campers and our staff is our top priority.

The UW-System monitors public health conditions and adopts guidelines best suited for the current situation and changes them when appropriate.  EnQuest has planned these Covid-19 precautions based on current guidelines which may change before the EnQuest camps are held:

Your Preparations for Camp

  • If you are able to be vaccinated against COVID-19, you are encouraged to do so.
  • UWM will NOT require proof of vaccination status nor proof of weekly negative test result for unvaccinated individuals as a condition of participation in its programs serving minors, effective May 20, 2022. This may change; please check this site for updates.

COVID-19 Testing Requirements – None at this time

Testing is not currently required for program participants. This measure is subject to change per current UWM campus guidance, responsibilities, and restrictions.

Daily Screening

  • Campers who feel sick or have a fever should not come to UWM.
  • Campers who have been in contact with a Covid-19 positive person and have not yet completed the quarantine requirements should not come to UWM.
  • Each morning, campers, staff and volunteers will be asked if they are experiencing any symptoms and temperature checks with contactless thermometers will be done.

Safety Protocols

  • Rooms will be used at reduced capacity.
  • Campers, staff and volunteers will observe physical distancing at a minimum of 3 feet.
  • Face coverings are recommended.
  • Workspaces are disinfected daily.

COVID Acknowledgement Form

  • All campers must return a COVID Acknowledgment Form with their confirmation documents.

If A Camper Becomes Sick

  • A camper who develops symptoms of COVID-19 during camp will be taken to a separate location with EnQuest staff members.
  • Parents or guardians will be contacted and asked to pick up the camper who is not feeling well within 1 hour.
  • The camper with symptoms, accompanied by a parent or guardian, should receive a COVID test and share the results with EnQuest so that appropriate follow up can be taken.
  • A UWM or community health official may interview affected campers and camp staff for contact tracing.

Other Important Policies

  • If your plans change after registering and you can no longer attend EnQuest, please notify the camp by e-mailing chrisbe@uwm.edu as soon as possible so that your place in the camp can be made available to students on the waiting list

Conditions may change.  Please ask if you have any questions.  Contact chrisbe@uwm.edu.
