Just to name a few prevalent applications, optical devices can be found in CD-ROM players, camcorders, supermarket scanners, barcode readers, and telephone systems, etc. The technical track in optics will expose students to principles, devices and systems in the field of optics, and will provide a broad foundation in high-speed electronics.
