Biomedical engineering considers the application of engineering concepts and principles to the study of biological systems. This includes biomedical imaging systems, biomedical instrumentation, biosensors, and biophotonics. In addition to the suggested courses listed below, the student may also wish to take courses in related tracks (e.g., the optics track for students interested in biophotonics).

Suggested courses:

EE 436 Introduction to Medical Instrumentation
EE 437 Introduction to BioMedical Imaging
EE 438 Bioanalytics and Biomedical Diagnostics
EE 537 Fundamentals of Neuroimaging
Math 413 Introduction to Numerical Analysis
BioSci 202 and 203 Anatomy and Physiology I and II
