Milwaukee Engineering Research Conference

The Milwaukee Engineering Research Conference brought together federal agencies, industry and academia for technical discussions to advance the nation’s research enterprise. The event, led by Adel Nasiri, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Research, included two days of research presentations with focus on:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Biomedical & Health
  • Energy & Sustainability
  • Physical Infrastructure
  • Water & the Environment

Barry Johnson, Division Director, for the Division of Industrial Innovation and Partnerships, National Science Foundation, talked about technology transfer saying that “The eco-system you are creating here for translating inventions from fundamental research into innovative start-ups and existing large companies is perfectly aligned with my division does.”

Jay Bayne, Chairman and CEO of the Milwaukee Institute also spoke saying adding the important role the conference plays in Connecting academic research with industrial problems.” Other guest speakers included:
