Choose from a variety of dyed reeds that reflect your identity and expression. As we weave\, we’ll explore how our stories\, experiences\, and identities interlace—creating a shared tapestry of connection and pride. Come as you are—no experience needed! This engaging workshop series invites participants to explore the rich traditions of hula and oli (chant)\, learn halau protocols\, and reflect on Hawaiian values such as aloha\, kuleana\, and pono. \nWorkshops will take place every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM\, beginning January\, in Merrill Hall – Room 142 at UWM (2512 E. Hartford Ave\, Milwaukee\, WI 53211). DESCRIPTION:The Electa Quinney Institute and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewer District invite students to learn about the Indigenous Land Management Paid Summer Internship\, a 10‑week summer experience grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing\, observing\, and being with the land. \n\nDuring this internship\, students will explore how Indigenous communities in Wisconsin understand and care for the land through relational practices\, stewardship approaches\, and Indigenous knowledge systems.
