DESCRIPTION:Hula & Polynesian Culture Workshop Series \nJoin the Electa Quinney Institute for American Indian Education for a weekly cultural immersion experience led by Artist-In-Residence Malia Chow from Nā Hale Studios and special guests. This engaging workshop series invites participants to explore the rich traditions of hula and oli (chant)\, learn halau protocols\, and reflect on Hawaiian values such as aloha\, kuleana\, and pono. \nWorkshops will take place every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM\, beginning January\, in Merrill Hall – Room 142 at UWM (2512 E. Hartford Ave\, Milwaukee\, WI 53211). Light refreshments will be provided. \nOpen to UWM students\, faculty\, staff\, and community members\, this series fosters meaningful connections between Polynesian lifeways and participants’ own cultural traditions and wellness practices.
