ASL Enrichment Center<\/h1><\/header>\n\n\n

For more than four decades, the Interpreter Training Program and American Sign Language (ASL) Studies Program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee have been leaders in interpreter training and ASL instruction in the region. UWM offers Wisconsin’s only four-year bachelor’s program for ASL \/ English interpreting and its programs strive for excellence in language fluency, cultural competency, and communication access \u2013 a key to creating equal opportunity for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf Blind community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our continued commitment to ASL instruction, the UWM School of Education recently completed the construction of a state-of-the-art American Sign Language Enrichment Center, staffed entirely by Deaf individuals<\/strong>. Our vision for the ASL Enrichment Center was to build an immersive hub that provides the resources and environment needed to inspire and support those interested in American Sign Language and Deaf culture. The center will help students build meaningful connections in the Deaf community and become allies for equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
