The test reflects scientifically based reading research and is aligned with the Common Core State Standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UWM School of Education offers multiple opportunities to help you prepare for this test. Our test prep courses can provide you with specific strategies for analyzing and answering FoRT questions, as well as practical advice for studying for this high-stakes test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"self-paced\">UW-Systems WI FoRT Camvas Modules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Literacy instructors across the University of Wisconsin System offer a self-paced course designed to support participants\u2019 understanding of the teaching of reading and engage in preparation work for the Foundations of Reading Test (FoRT 890). Registration and engagement in the course is free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This course has enabled open enrollment. Participants can self-enroll in the course using this link URL: <a href=\"https:\/\/uws-ce.instructure.com\/enroll\/L9RACF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/uws-ce.instructure.com\/enroll\/L9RACF<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"test-prep-support\">Test Prep Support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>UWM offers for-credit and non-credit options to prepare for this high-stakes test. Currently, UWM offers 6-week online classes each semester. There are two ways to register, depending on whether you\u2019re a current UWM student or a community member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Current UWM Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In PAWS, sign up for CURRINS\/EXCEDUC 377, which is a one-credit, pass\/fail class. Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.uwm.edu\/course-search\/\">UWM Schedule of Classes<\/a> and look for either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CURRINS 377 under \u201cCurriculum and Instruction\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EXCEDUC 377 under \u201cExceptional Education\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite having different prefixes, these courses are identical. Make your choice based on whether you want a course from \u201cCurriculum and Instruction\u201d or a course from \u201cExceptional Education\u201d to show on your transcript.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Members (not current UWM students)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The FoRT test prep course is offered in a non-credit option for community members. Refer to the School of Continuing Education Website for more information on workshop schedules, program costs, and cancellation\/refund policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that enrollment in these courses is limited, and current UWM students receive priority. Confirmed registration is required prior to attending sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"other-resources\">Other Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We recognize there are other resources out there to help you prepare for the FoRT.
