Jana R. Mauldin

Jana R. Mauldin (she/her) began as an Associate Lecturer with UW-Milwaukee in 2016 and has continued teaching workshops virtually and in-person for professional conferences nationwide. She is expected to graduate with a Master of Arts in Interpreting Studies and Communication Equity from St. Catherine University in Spring '22 and has completed over 400 hours of specialized legal training with the most recent completion of the Legal Interpreter Training Certificate offered through UW-Milwaukee's School of Continuing Education.

Ms. Mauldin holds her National Interpreter Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and has experience working on several regional and national level conference interpreting teams. She specializes in post-secondary classrooms, conference and platform work, government and business sectors, and legal environments, while also working as a coordinator of services at the local community college.

Ms. Mauldin strives to teach using an interactive and engaging approach that highlights authentic relationships with the Deaf community and embracing vulnerability.
