The ASL Studies program staff has created a short sign language video of the Panther Fight Song to help keep everyone’s spirits up. The working staff of ASL Studies program, including everyone from the ASL Studies program director to the lab student assistant, participated. (See the end of the video for a complete list of credits.)
The video is based on percussion signing, a visual performance that produces ASL to a specific beat, using a drum and hand clapping, the oldest form of ASL Literature.
The goal of the project was to cheer up students and thank them for bearing with the new changes.
The ASL Studies program plans to use this video to greet ASL students at fall orientation.
