The instructors in our teacher education programs are invited to participate in culturally responsive content analysis sessions of their course syllabi. This endeavor is funded by the ACCESS grant and will take place over two half-day sessions to critically analyze course syllabi and program processes. These sessions will allow your program to dive deeply into course content and locate the areas of strength concerning culturally responsive practices throughout your programs. Participants will receive a $100/half-day stipend for the work at each half-day session.
The ACCESS grant program is holding two sets of culturally responsive critical content analysis of syllabi sessions this summer led by Nicholas Husbye and members of the ACCESS Grant Program Curriculum Alignment workgroup:
- The first session will provide participants with norms to align the characteristics of culturally responsive practices (CRP) valued in and evidenced in their teacher preparation programs. This session will introduce participants to a framework for critically analyzing course content found in their syllabi through a CRP lens.
- In the second session, participants will dive deeply into their syllabi and instructional practices in alignment to the critical analysis framework used in the first session to identify where CRP is integrated in your program’s teacher preparation materials.
