School-Level Leadership Opportunities

Listen, Discuss and Learn: Structured Leadership Dialogue and Learning Session

Charter school leaders will be engaged in being a public, active, collaborative member of this unique professional learning opportunity using the Consultancy Protocol model. The Consultancy Protocol has two main purposes – to develop participants’ capacity to see and describe the dilemmas that are the essential material of their work, and to help each other understand and deal with them. As a valued contributor to learning, sessions are designed to be collaborative and focused on leading for equity, cultural responsiveness, engagement of community partners and the effects of trauma on learning. Effective engagement in this professional learning opportunity will translate and apply their training and learning to improved actions and practices that enable educators to meet student needs leading to improved student outcomes.

1,500 Decisions

Have you ever tried to quantify how many decisions you make a day while you teach? During this session, participants will investigate some roots of their decision making that significantly impact relationships with students, choices of curricular materials, activities, and assessments. Our decisions have lasting consequences for all students. A plan of action, based on participants expanded awareness, will be developed around a problem of classroom practice. This plan will guide next steps and action items to take back to the classroom.
