Alumni, students and faculty of the Adult, Continuing Education and Higher Education Administration (ACHEA) got a chance to meet and mingle Aug. 28 at the home of Alumna Emily Robertson and her husband, Mike. Emily and Simone Conceição, chair of the department, organized the event at the Robertsons’ home near campus. Current students who are taking classes online got a chance to meet their fellow students and faculty members in person. Former faculty members Larry Martin and Barb Daley were able to join the students and alumni, along with current faculty members Liliana Mina, Dante Salto, Leigh Wallace and Rod Whiteman.
Carol Wacker updated the group on the importance of scholarships for master’s level students. Angie Izard, who graduated from the program and is now director of multicultural projects UWM’s in Global Inclusion and Engagement division, shared how her degree had helped her find and grow in her career. (If you are interested in taking part in the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s “On the Table” event in October, she is the person to contact.)
