Why Choose Our Program?

  • Focus. Bridge theory and practice to create equitable school systems.
  • Expertise. Benefit from faculty nationally recognized for research on leadership and equity—faculty who have developed equity curriculum used in programs across Wisconsin and nationally.
  • Convenience. Hybrid delivery and a convenient location means flexibility in how you structure your time. The accelerated schedule means less time in class, and more time to lead for equity.
  • Value. Experience UWM quality at substantial savings.
  • Earn your principal certification from one of America’s top research universities.

How it works:

  • Classes will be offered at the Racine Unified School District Professional Learning Center (2333 Northwestern Avenue, Racine, WI 53404).
  • Summer Session (12 credits) begins on June 8th and includes two, one-week long intensive class sessions, with additional instruction provided online throughout the summer. Each course lasts five weeks.
  • Fall and spring semesters will include two courses and one practicum credit (7 credits) each semester, meeting once a month on Saturday with online
    delivery between sessions.
  • All licensure and degree program requirements will be completed by the end of the second summer.
  • A principalship license only option (27 credits) is available for those who have already earned a master’s degree.
  • Orientation on May 16, 2020 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

What it costs:

  • Remain in the cohort throughout the program to take advantage of summer plateau pricing and a 20% tuition discount for the fall and spring semesters.
  • For Wisconsin residents seeking a master’s degree and dual licensure (33 credits), the entire program costs less than $14,000* plus books—an unbeatable value.
  • Those enrolled in the master’s program are eligible to apply for financial aid.
  • Earn a high quality UWM degree for less than 60% of the cost of the traditional online program.

Note: *Tuition estimates are based on 2018-19 tuition.
