Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Education (SOE) website. In the past year, the SOE web team has made tremendous advancements to this website. I have no doubt that with a team effort; the School of Education will achieve its vision of becoming a premier urban school of education recognized for its work in culturally relevant practices, research, teaching, and community engagement. Every day I am impressed by the commitment of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni to excellence and pushing the boundaries of what is possible to improve the quality of education for those who need it the most.

The School of Education has a proud history dating back to 1885 as UWM was originally founded as the Milwaukee State Normal School. Today, we prepare students to be 21st Century teachers, adult educators, administrators, community leaders, researchers, counselors, school psychologists, sign language interpreters, trainers in the business community and for many more education-related careers.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve the School of Education and the greater Milwaukee community as the Dean of the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
