Two featured talks from Prof Castillo and Ruotolo focused on the understanding of the use of Mass Spectrometry for the investigation of the antibody glycosylation and analysis of protein sequence, stability and structure. The first part of this workshop focused on brief introduction on sample preparation using solid phase extraction, β-Glucuronidase removal techniques, solid liquid extraction and phospholipid removal techniques using Phenomenex products. The presenter also lectured on the parameters needed to be consider in choosing the appropriate sample preparation technique. The second part of the workshop focused on hands-on experience in lab on performing solid phase extraction using Strata-X filter in separating mixture of food coloring.
