Drs. Saha and Premnath appointed as MIDD members

We are delighted to announce two new MIDD members:

Arjun Saha, Assistant Professor from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry investigates the development and application of novel computational chemistry and biophysics approaches to gain fundamental understanding of remarkable biological processes and their relation to complex diseases. In particular, this groups designs small molecules either to inhibit or to enhance particular biological function facilitating drug discovery for cancer and neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Dementia).  Priyatha Premnath is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering and investigates the biomechanics and mechanobiology of osteogenesis. Her research further involves the fabrication of osteogenesis-mimicking functional biomaterials to development long-lasting treatments for injury and disease based on regenerative medicine approaches.
