Mosaic Leadership Academy: Fellows

We are seeking applications for the 2022-2023 Mosaic Leadership Academy! The Mosaic Leadership Academy is designed to create community and leverage campus resources to foster the knowledge, skills, and networks of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) staff and faculty. The overall goal of this academy is to support the promotion and retention of diverse members of UWM’s community by identifying pathways to administrative and academic leadership positions.

If you are accepted into the academy, you agree to complete and/or participate in the following activities over the course of the 2022-2023 academic year. We expect that most activities will be in-person though some may be virtual or have the option to join virtually. In addition, you may choose to participate in campus-level skill or professional development activities aligned with your leadership plan at your discretion.

  • Confidentiality agreement
  • Completion of a self-assessment and professional leadership plan
  • Launch/kickoff and culminating celebration
  • Two campus level leadership workshops/panels
  • Group coaching session
  • One job shadowing session with assigned mentor
  • Periodic informal check-ins with assigned mentor
  • Completion of a final reflection on the academy

A completed application includes this form, an updated resume/ CV, and a supervisor approval form submitted by Friday, September 16, 2022.  Given the limited number of participants in the academy, only completed applications submitted by the due date will be considered. Applications must include a letter of support by your supervisor indicating their agreement to release you to participate in academy activities. Here is a template letter for you to use.

Applications will be reviewed by an internal committee of the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Department of Human Resources. Materials will be kept confidential. We will use information gathered in the application to guide our planning of academy workshops but will keep all information anonymous and confidential. Only names of accepted fellows will be shared publicly. Questions about the Mosaic Leadership Academy should be directed to Dr. Elizabeth Drame.
