We will be hosting an informal discussion on the following topic: Many of us engage in scholarship and research efforts to have a broader impact on communities, particularly communities of color. This leads many of us to conduct research in ways that may impact ‘productivity’ (community-based participatory research) or using data collection methods that are undervalued (e.g., storytelling, photovoice). How have you attempted to conduct research with practical impacts on communities and what barriers and opportunities have you experienced in the conduct of this research and dissemination of your research findings?
