She has been trained by the CaPP Institute in personal development, and executive coaching. She has earned her Doctorate in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service with an emphasis in higher education. Her research focused on undecided students and helping them move from indecision to major selection in the freshmen year.  Dr. Martin has been trained to help leaders, and organizations maximize their potential in an ever-changing industry.  She works with individuals, organizations, teams, small groups, and departments to help them move closer to their next. Dr. Martin has over 15 years of experience in higher education, and she believes that we all have the capacity to lead.

This year the McNair Scholars Program is looking forward to inspiring participants by focusing on research fundamentals, technical writing, goal setting, time management, and graduate school preparation. The theme for this year’s McNair Summer Research Institute is “Bridging the Gap”. This year’s theme embodies the importance of meeting each individual student where they are along the research journey. Our word of the year is learning; we want to share the importance of continuing our educational pursuits by becoming a lifelong learner.

Dr. Martin holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling with an emphasis in higher education, along with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work. She is driven by her core values of leadership, gratitude, and critical thinking to lead others to effective change management. Dr. M works with people who are facing educational pursuits, career transitions, and those who are preparing to lead during their next phase of life. The capacity for individuals, organizations, and teams to transform begins with each individual. The answers are within, for change truly begins on the inside!
