Bio

Heidi is copywriter turned design-student who is eager to mix her love of words with visual storytelling techniques in order to benefit non-profit organizations in her community. Heidi graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in 2010 with an English Linguistics and French degree. In search of an adventure, Heidi taught both English and French in a Japanese high school for a year. Upon her return to the USA, Heidi began working in public relations where her strong research, written, verbal communications and interpersonal skills served her well. However, it was when Heidi began working as a copywriter in the creative department at Healthgrades, a Madison healthcare marketing agency, that Heidi found her stride.

Working with a diverse creative team, Heidi blossomed under the daily pressure to create fresh creative concepts and copy in order to effectively market hospital services around the United States. Heidi’s longtime love of drawing became an unexpectedly useful tool as a writer. This lit her desire to unite visual communication with the written word, which brought her to Milwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts. Heidi is always clearing time in her busy schedule to read, meet people, and learn about/experience other cultures. Between design projects, gardening and exercising, she loves spending time with her husband, Mike, and her friends and family.  Heidi plans to pursue a lifelong career as a writer and designer.
