Bio

Angela M. Ryan is currently a Design and Visual Communications senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She will be graduating with a BFA in December 2017. Ms. Ryan is from the charming city of Cedarburg, Wisconsin and still resides there today. In 2015-2016, she served as President for the AIGA-UWM (America Institute of Graphic Arts at UWM) Student Chapter. She currently holds the position of AIGA-UWM Student Advisor as well as Graphic Designer for UWM Restaurant Operations. At Restaurant Operations, she works as an in-house designer managing coffee shops, dorm cafes, catering, and other units within the Union. When she’s not designing, she’s is capturing the world through a camera lens. Angela likes car shows, camping trips and casual bonfires with friends. Nature and the world around her is vital, and she loves to explore it.

Description

Cubpanion provides children with a connection to help ease the process of learning about domestic violence, creating a safety action plan, as well as coping with domestic violence.

It has built a system that children cannot only relate to but also interact with and immerse their imagination into. A teddy bear is the ultimate icon of love and sympathy. That is why Cubpanion uses teddy bears as their furry friends. There are a variety of teddy bears that wear with a purple ribbon tied around the neck and the Cubpanion logo sewn on the foot.

These special teddy bears have an integrated safety feature, a button, inside that when triggered, can send an alert to local authorities in the case of a situation. Cubpanion also provides an online education game that presents children with scenarios where they have to make decisions based on their safety action plan. Every child needs a companion. Every child needs a Cubpanion.
