UWM Coronavirus Update: Summer classes to be online

Summer classes to be online

Summer classes are a great way to continue to make progress toward your degree while maintaining a flexible schedule. This year, summer classes will be offered online or through remote instruction because we don’t know what the public health guidance related to coronavirus will be after May.

Currently, the state’s Safer at Home order prohibits public and private gatherings of people who are not part of a single household or living unit, with some limited exceptions outlined in the order.

Planning for summer classes continues, and we hope to share more information in the next few days.

Commencement rescheduled to October

Commencement for our May 2020 graduates has been rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 10.

The university is considering whether it will hold one or two ceremonies on that day and will solicit feedback from graduating students to determine how many plan to participate.

In addition, some schools and colleges are discussing other ways to recognize graduates in May. More details will be shared as they are available.
