Dear UWM Students,
I write to you today with welcome news. Gov. Evers has announced that the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to everyone in Wisconsin age 16 and older, starting on Monday, April 5. This is almost a full month earlier than expected, and it follows news that more vaccine will soon be available.
I strongly urge you to get vaccinated. It is the best way to protect your health and the health of those around you. It’s also the key to our being able to return to mostly in-person instruction in the fall and to being able to resume larger, in-person student events.
If you live on or near the Milwaukee campus, make an appointment to get vaccinated at the clinic in our Student Union. If you live elsewhere, please make an appointment at a clinic near you. We’ve put together a list of resources to help you find your shot.
While everyone is getting vaccinated, please keep wearing masks, washing your hands, social distancing and, if you meet the criteria, getting tested regularly. You’ve done an amazing job of controlling the spread of COVID-19 on our campuses, and now is not the time to let up. We’re in the homestretch. Let’s finish strong.
