What is the status of campus parking and transportation services?

September 4, 2020

Until Dec. 31, 2020, most parking rates will be discounted by 20% and prorated to the purchase date. In addition, the hunting permit will cost $33 per month in the fall, exceeding the discount for other permits. This matches the cost of the MCTS bus pass, which is not available this year to employees. Faculty and staff members who used to use the bus pass have the option to purchase a hunting permit as an alternative in the fall at the same cost of $33 per month.

All UWM parking garages and lots will be open, and annual, semester and monthly permits are available for purchase online. There is no need for physical permits as the license plate numbers are considered parking permits. On-site touchless payment options and the Parkmobile app are available for daily parking for students, faculty and staff who may not be coming to campus every day.

The Transportation Services office at the Student Union will remain closed until all customer service safety protocols have been implemented. The Transportation Services website will provide opening details when available. In the meantime, all permits can be purchased online. Please email Transportation Services at uwmpark@uwm.edu if you need assistance.

Student IDs and face masks will be required to ride the vehicles. Please visit the BOSS website for more information.

UPARK and residence hall shuttles

The residence hall and Capitol/Humboldt parking lot (UPARK) shuttles will begin running when the fall semester starts with safety guidelines in place for drivers and passengers. Go Riteway buses will be running and follow all CDC recommendations. All bus seats will be wiped or sprayed with a disinfectant before each shift, and deep cleaning will be performed daily each night. UWM IDs, social distancing and face masks will be required to ride the buses.

Their U-PASS card will be ready for 48 hours after the form is submitted and can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday at the UWM Student Union information desk.
