Is the university tracking positive tests for COVID-19 among students who are living in another state and taking only online courses?

November 2, 2020

Yes. UWM is tracking all positive tests among students and employees no matter their location and asks everyone to self-report this information. This helps the university understand the scope of the infection’s spread and provide students and employees with support and resources. Students can self-report positive tests and diagnoses based on symptoms with this form.

By reporting, students afford themselves the opportunity to receive resources and/or assistance from the Dean of Students Office to deal with COVID-19 and manage their academics. In addition, the Dean of Students Office will confirm that the student has not visited campus recently.

Employees should self-report positive tests and diagnoses based on symptoms to their supervisors so appropriate resources and accommodations can be provided.
