How is UWM providing food to residence hall students in isolation/quarantine on the Milwaukee campus?

“Go boxes” with bottled water and snacks are available at the front desks of each building. Students can pick them up on arrival or whenever they need them. The boxes are not meals but meant to tide students over until they can get a meal.

Students moving into isolation/quarantine will receive an email from UWM’s Restaurant Operations on how to order meals. Students need to plan their meals in advance.

Meals are delivered once per day, between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Restaurant Operations delivers three meals at once — breakfast, lunch and dinner. The actual items depend on what students order.

Food is only delivered Monday to Friday, but students can have weekend meals delivered on Friday. The meals are ready-to-eat and can be warmed in a microwave.

Restaurant Operations staff wear gloves, masks and face shields when delivering food. They knock on students’ doors, and students are told to wait one minute to allow time for the delivery staff to leave the area. The food containers are disposable and require no return or pickup.
