Option A – Degree Requirements

Course of Study

This option is recommended particularly for students who intend to pursue graduate work in comparative literature. Students may consider a double major with a foreign language, with certain credits counting for both majors. It is not possible to complete the Option A major entirely online, but a number of online courses are available for students who prefer to take some of their courses in that format.

Listed below are the requirements for the Comparative Literature Option A major. In addition to the requirements for the major, students must also satisfy all of the university general education requirements and the College of Letters & Science breadth and other degree requirements. Degree requirements will vary depending on when you took your first college class. You are strongly advised to consult both the Comparative Literature advisor and your L&S advisor to ensure you stay on track towards a degree. Read more about the degree requirements on the L&S Degree Requirements web pages.
