Kristin Pitt publishes article on artistic representations of migrant dairy labor

Congratulations to Associate Professor Kristin E. Pitt, whose article “The Vulnerable Harvest: Farmworkers, Food, and Immigration in the Contemporary United States” was recently published in Aztlán: A Journal of Chicano Studies, vol. 41, no. 2, Fall 2016, pp. 13-36. In this essay, she examines the poetics of vulnerability depicted in two recent artistic representations of migrant dairy labor in Vermont: Julia Alvarez’s young adult novel Return to Sender (2009) and Caleb Kenna and Chris Urban’s exhibition The Golden Cage: Mexican Migrant Workers and Vermont Dairy Farmers (2008).
