Literacy Link Book Drive
January 14 @ 8:00 am - February 14 @ 5:00 pm
The UWM Golda Meir Library and the Center for Community-Based Learning, Leadership, and Research (CCBLLR) are co-sponsoring a book drive for Literacy Link, a program of UW Extension that creates opportunities for parents who are incarcerated at the House of Corrections to read books to their kids. A DVD recording is created of the parent reading a book, and then the book and DVD are sent to the child. While this program has operated across Wisconsin for a few years, it has recently come to Milwaukee.
We are looking for new books, from the list below.
Books can be order on Amazon and sent directly to: UWM Center for Community-Based Learning, PO Box 413, Milwaukee, WI 53201-0413. Alternatively, if you would like to drop off your book on campus, there is a donation bin in Learning Commons at the Golda Meir Library.
