Feeding America Food Sorting

October 22 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the largest hunger-relief organization in the state, operating food banks in Milwaukee and Appleton. Together with our member food pantries, we are providing healthy and nutritious food to those who face hunger. We are also developing innovative solutions to improve the health of our communities, solve root causes of hunger, and advocate on behalf of those we serve.

You will be participating in a packaging, labeling, sorting, or cleaning project. This could range from labeling canned goods to be shipped to food pantries, sorting meat products to provide meal programs with real protein, boxing fresh produce to send to homeless shelters, or packing bulk product into family friendly sized portions. Our staff will give you specific information about your task and assist you through your shift. Please note this volunteer activity takes place in a warehouse facility. For safety concerns, volunteers who are 10-14 years old must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the volunteer activity.
