Alberto Maldonado<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Since 2016, I have been dedicated to leading the Roberto Hern\u00e1ndez Center, where my work centers on empowering students and creating pathways for their academic and personal success. My role has been about more than just managing operations, it’s about building a community where multicultural students feel supported, engaged, and equipped to achieve their goals. In 2023, I expanded these efforts as the Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Community Empowerment and Institutional Inclusivity at UWM, where I continue to advocate for inclusivity and equitable access to education. Through my work, I aim to create lasting change that benefits not only individual students but the entire UWM community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past 26 years at UWM, my focus has remained on fostering partnerships and cultivating spaces where students, families, and communities can thrive. I am deeply committed to addressing the systemic barriers that impact access to higher education. Whether it\u2019s through mentoring, developing strategic initiatives, or building bridges with community organizations, my work has always been driven by a passion for creating meaningful opportunities for students. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that education can transform lives, and my goal is to ensure that more students, especially those from different backgrounds have the support they need to succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
