The UWM Honors College, the Division for Community Empowerment and Institutional Inclusivity, and Student Involvement invite students, staff, and community members to join us in the Honors College on Friday, April 11th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for the Community Empowerment and Justice Symposium!

This event will highlight explorations and experiences of race and racism, how these intersect with other asymmetries of power, and how we can work to foster greater equity.

The conference features keynote speaker Reggie Jackson, who will give his address, “How to find and maintain courage when things feel hopeless” from 10-11am. Author and longtime-friend of the Honors College Kristine Cherek will discuss her book, Tread Loudly, at 12:30 pm -1:30 pm. Student poster presentations will take place from 9:00 am- 9:45 am, with all other student presenters scheduled from 11:15 am-12:15 pm and 1:45 pm -3:00 pm. A more detailed student presentation schedule will be coming soon.

Lunch will be provided at 12:30 pm for attendees who register using this link:
