Community Design Solutions (CDS) collaborated with UWM Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty and staff to expand the vision for a new facility that meets their mission and opportunity for campus outreach. This expanded vision considers the UWM Pre-Design Report and the Aro Eberle, Ballinger report for the southwest quadrant. The design proposed in this report strives to engage students, partners, and the community with chemistry and welcomes a wide range of learners to experience science in action.
The CDS design concepts assisted the faculty and UWM in achieving UW System Regent approval for funding. The new Chemistry building opened in 2023.
