The Solomon Community Temple on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive is interested in improving their outdoor facilities by creating flexible spaces for worship, as well as opportunities for local vendors to display art and sell produce. CDS produced two site plan options that offered different solutions for activities, circulation, and landscape design. The final scheme includes a fence to display murals on and a pergola to sell produce under, along with new raised garden beds. Sun sails provide shading for a flexible worship space on the west side of the building. CDS worked to improve the circulation of the outdoor space with the use of green infrastructure and updated landscaping. This resulted in a more inviting entrance to Solomon Temple’s food pantry with seating and mosaic accents.
