Multimedia Classroom Standard
All Multimedia classrooms include basic technology infrastructure for teaching and learning. Though the equipment in each room can vary, there are standards each must meet in order to be considered a multimedia classroom:
- Fixed data/video display with audio
- Windows 10 PC
- Internet connectivity at instructor station
- Wireless network access
- Audio input
- AV control system
- 1 laptop connection with audio in
- May have additional capabilities, such as: VCR, Blu-Ray and Interactive displays
To ensure that classroom equipment remains secure, many of UWM’s multimedia classroom podiums are locked between classes. These podiums are locked with electronic locks and will require the access code to unlock.
System Access Codes
All touch panel systems require a pass code to enter the system control. This code can be obtained only from Classroom Services at either a podium training session or in person at Bolton Hall Room 238.
Classroom Software Installation
To request a specific piece of software be installed on a classroom PC needed for course instruction, you must complete the Lab Software Request.
Multimedia Classroom Orientation and Training
Orientation is offered before the start of both fall and spring semesters to provide training and information sessions for those instructors who will be utilizing technology with which they may be unfamiliar.
Podium training is available upon request during the semester for those that do not use the room regularly as well as throughout the summer and Winterim sessions. To request this training, complete the online form at avorders.uwm.edu and request “AV Assistance.”
Student Response System
Turning Technologies is the only supported student response system at UWM.
