Lynden Sculpture Garden, just north of Milwaukee, is\u00a0celebrating World Refugee Day<\/a>\u00a0on June 26th<\/sup>\u00a0with their\u00a0HOME<\/a>\u00a0program. The free event includes vending of food and other items from the HOME community, music from Samba da Vida MKE, and an art exhibition featuring wearable art among other activities.\u00a0Find more details here.<\/a>\u00a0Today we spotlight the event’s multilingual story time with Claudia Orjuela and Julio Pab\u00f3n. They will be reading a book focusing on migration for children 4-8 years old as an in-person version of their virtual story times occurring every third Wednesday of the month. Se\u00f1orita Mariposa by Ben Gundersheimer<\/a>\u00a0is an inspiring bilingual story about a monarch butterfly’s incredible 3,000-mile migration from Canada, through the United States, to Mexico and back. Children will sing a song about monarchs and engage in monarch conservation by exploring monarch eggs, caterpillars, and milkweed seed pods. Teaching Books\u00a0has 12 resources for this title<\/a>, including lesson guides and reflection activities.\u00a0The\u00a0Symbolic Migration Project<\/a>\u00a0is an annual unit of activities that unites youth across North America\u00a0through the migration of ambassador butterflies.
