UCLA Professor<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0MacArthur Fellow<\/a>\u00a0Kelly Lytle Hern\u00e1ndez will\u00a0be\u00a0in conversation<\/a>\u00a0about her\u00a0new book<\/a>\u00a0Bad Mexicans: Race, Empire, and Revolution in the Borderlands<\/i>\u00a0on Monday, June 6th, as part of the Zinn Education Project’s\u00a0free online class series<\/a>. Professor\u00a0Lytle Hern\u00e1ndez will be joined by\u00a0University of Maryland, College Park\u00a0Associate Professor\u00a0Nancy Raquel Mirabal<\/a>, and\u00a0Director of their U.S. Latina\/o Studies Program.<\/div>\n
\nLytle Hern\u00e1ndez will be focusing on the\u00a0magonistas<\/i>, a “group of agitators who challenged Mexican dictator Porfirio D\u00edaz in the early 20th century.” The Library of Congress has a collection on “The Mexican Revolution and the United States” which can be\u00a0found here<\/a>\u00a0in both English and\u00a0Spanish<\/a>\u00a0and includes a timeline, an interactive map, audio and videos from the revolution, and more.
