This week, we are offering resources related to LGBTQ+ Caribbean communities.\u200b\u00a0\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/sta.uwi.edu\/igds\/dr-angelique-nixon\" href=\"https:\/\/sta.uwi.edu\/igds\/dr-angelique-nixon\">Angelique V. Nixon<\/a>\u00a0is a queer\u00a0Afro-Caribbean scholar-activist who does work on diverse genders and sexualities in the Caribbean. She has a variety of resources on her\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/sistellablack.com\/\" href=\"https:\/\/sistellablack.com\/\">website<\/a>, including <a title=\"https:\/\/sistellablack.com\/writing#7e547d42-993a-405a-9d92-48e645b2f7d0\" href=\"https:\/\/sistellablack.com\/writing#7e547d42-993a-405a-9d92-48e645b2f7d0\">poetry<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/sta-uwi.academia.edu\/AngeliqueVNixon\" href=\"https:\/\/sta-uwi.academia.edu\/AngeliqueVNixon\">scholarship<\/a>. <a title=\"https:\/\/www.brooklyn.cuny.edu\/web\/academics\/faculty\/faculty_profile.jsp?faculty=774\" href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklyn.cuny.edu\/web\/academics\/faculty\/faculty_profile.jsp?faculty=774\">Rosamond S. King<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0an author and artist whose work is deeply informed by her cultures and communities (including African, Caribbean, American, and queer). Her\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/rosamondsking.black\/\" href=\"https:\/\/rosamondsking.black\/\">website<\/a>\u00a0has many resources as well, including information on her\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/rosamondsking.black\/Performance-Home\" href=\"https:\/\/rosamondsking.black\/Performance-Home\">performance art<\/a>\u00a0(click each photo for more information) and\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/rosamondsking.black\/Academics-Home\" href=\"https:\/\/rosamondsking.black\/Academics-Home\">academics<\/a>. Additionally, the\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/dloc.com\/\" href=\"https:\/\/dloc.com\/\">Digital Library of the Caribbean<\/a>&#8216;s\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/dloc.com\/icirn\" href=\"https:\/\/dloc.com\/icirn\">International Resource Network&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0digital archives has many collections of digitized documents related to LGBTQ+ life in the Caribbean, with subcollections including the\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/dloc.com\/icirngfm\" href=\"https:\/\/dloc.com\/icirngfm\">Gay Freedom Movement Archives<\/a>, and the<a title=\"https:\/\/dloc.com\/icirnratb\" href=\"https:\/\/dloc.com\/icirnratb\">\u00a0Rainbow Alliance of the Bahamas<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_xxxxmsonormal\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the United States, the month of June is known as both Pride month and Caribbean-American Heritage month.
