Margarita Garcia Rojas is a University of Wisconsin Milwaukee alumna with a bachelor’s degree in Latin American, Caribbean, & U.S Latinx Studies (LACUSL), Spanish, and History with certificates in Comparative Ethnic Studies, Cultures & Communities, and Latino Studies. Margarita was born in Mexico and migrated to the U.S with her family at three years old to Beloit, Wisconsin and later moved to Milwaukee, WI at the age of 6. Her immigrant, working class, Latina identity and transnational and mixed status family background has influenced her interests in studying migration history. 

She is currently a first year History PhD student at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
