Library Travel Awards for Faculty from Community Colleges
and Minority Serving Institutions
Eligibility
Funded with Federal Title VI Grant monies from the U.S. Education Department, the UWM Scholar Access Grants are specifically intended for Latin Americanist and Caribbeanist faculty from Community Colleges and from Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs)* to conduct library research at the UWM libraries, including its extensive American Geographical Society (AGS) library, or at any of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) libraries.
*An MSI is defined as a Title III and Title V eligible institution.
Nature of Award
$750 is available for this award cycle, to be used as reimbursement for travel, lodging, parking, per diem, etc. All air travel must be on a U.S. carrier and arranged by UW-Milwaukee. Award recipients must contact CLACS with their flight/travel preferences. Other State of Wisconsin or federal travel restrictions may apply.
Application Due Date
Rolling application format for travel ending by August 1, 2019. Applications are peer reviewed and award notification will be approximately two weeks after the application submission. Please inquire about award availability before applying.
A Complete Application Includes:
- General information, including travel dates;
- Proposal (1 page) describing how you intend to use the library (ie- preliminary research or enhancing an existing research project) and anticipated outcome(s);
- Budget worksheet with estimated travel costs;
- An upload of your abbreviated curriculum vitae.
